1. Agreement to Terms

By renting a trailer from Trailer City, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all trailer rentals and form the agreement between you ("Renter") and Trailer City ("Owner").

2. Rental Eligibility

To rent a trailer, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license
  • Possess a valid credit card in the renter's name
  • Have a vehicle with adequate towing capacity for the trailer
  • Have appropriate insurance coverage (see Section 5)

3. Rental Period & Fees

The rental period begins at the scheduled pickup time and ends when the trailer is returned. Additional fees may apply for:

  • Late returns (per hour or per day rates apply)
  • Cleaning fees for trailers returned excessively dirty
  • Fuel charges for dump trailers (if applicable)
  • Damage beyond normal wear and tear

4. Trailer Condition & Inspection

Before departure, trailers are inspected and documented. The renter is responsible for:

  • Inspecting the trailer before and after use
  • Reporting any pre-existing damage immediately
  • Noting all existing damage on the rental agreement
  • Returning the trailer in the same condition received

5. Insurance & Liability

Renter is responsible for any damage to or loss of the trailer during the rental period. Options include:

  • Renter's Personal Auto Insurance: Coverage through your own policy (verify with your provider)
  • Damage Waiver: Available at checkout for an additional daily fee
  • Security Deposit: A refundable deposit may be required based on trailer type

6. Prohibited Uses

Trailers may NOT be used for:

  • Transporting hazardous, flammable, or illegal materials
  • Off-road or beach driving (unless specifically permitted)
  • Exceeding the trailer's maximum weight capacity
  • Towing by vehicles not properly equipped or rated
  • Subletting or transferring the rental to another party
  • Racing, speed contests, or reckless driving

7. Towing & Safety

Renters are responsible for proper towing practices including:

  • Ensuring proper hitch connections and safety chains
  • Verifying brake lights and turn signals work properly
  • Distributing loads evenly and within weight limits
  • Securing all cargo with appropriate restraints
  • Driving at safe speeds for conditions (recommended max: 80 km/h)

8. Breakdown, Accident, or Damage

In the event of a breakdown or accident:

  • Contact Trailer City immediately: (226) 241-8377
  • Do not attempt repairs without authorization
  • Document damage with photos if safe to do so
  • File a police report for accidents involving other parties
  • Preserve all evidence until assessed by our team

9. Cancellation Policy

  • 24+ hours before: Full refund or free rescheduling
  • Less than 24 hours: Deposit may be forfeited
  • No-show: Full rental amount may be charged
  • Bad weather: We may offer flexibility at our discretion

10. Return Requirements

  • Return by the scheduled date and time
  • Remove all personal belongings and debris
  • Return to the designated drop-off location
  • Ensure hitch and cables are properly disconnected
  • Return keys and any accessories provided

11. Privacy & Data

We collect and store rental information as required by law and for service purposes. Your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy legislation.

12. Changes to Terms

Trailer City reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last modified" date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
